ACT PRAYER POINTS

WEEK COMMENCING 12TH OCTOBER

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”     3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV

‬‬   “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”       1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

STAFF WELL-BEING

Pupils’ safeguarding and well-being have been at the forefront of several programs and budgets recently and rightly so. While this is needful, staff well-being should not be ignored, it should be given the required attention as well.

Union tells school leaders to demand Ofsted risk assessment

NAHT says move is about ‘preventing avoidable harm – including the most serious outcomes – arising from a flawed inspection system’

We are now asking our members to write to their employer, requesting that they explain what they will do to protect and support school leaders and their teams,” says NAHT.

The union has written a template letter for school leaders, which urges employers to “recognise the very real dangers to staff wellbeing” and “take all necessary steps to protect us”.

“This is not simply about workload or stress management,” it says. “It is about preventing avoidable harm – including the most serious outcomes – arising from a flawed inspection system.

“We expect you to stand with us in demanding that staff wellbeing is not sacrificed to Ofsted’s high-stakes agenda.”

  • Pray for teachers and other staff that feel overwhelmed with workload. Pray that they would receive their needed support.

  • Pray for the mental health of all staff. Pray for improvement not degeneration. Pray for the healing of the body and mind.

  • Pray specifically for Headteachers well-being, they bear the brunt of criticism both from outside and within. Pray for strength and soundness of mind.

  • Pray that the government would recognise this problem and do something tangible about it; appropriate provision is needed urgently.

  • Pray against the spirit of discouragement and depression. Pray for calm and peace in the hearts of all staff. Continue to pray for them to embrace the Prince Of Peace, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
