Prayer points are back!
Sorry for the delay at the start of this academic year. Here are our weekly prayer points.
WEEK COMMENCING 22 SEPTEMBER '25
“Welcome back, now buckle up for autumn school reforms blitz”
In July, Bridget Phillipson told Schools Week that Labour had “laid the foundations” for change in its first year in office. This year, she said, was the time to “build.”
For school leaders, this inevitably means a challenging term ahead with reforms in inspection, accountability, curriculum and special educational needs, among other areas.
-
Pray for the success of these reforms, and for the government to lead schools with wisdom, empathy and understanding.
-
Pray that godly wisdom would be given to those shaping education policy. Our nation often builds on human ideas and shifting foundations, but may leaders turn to the true Foundation:
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11 NIV -
Pray that Christ would once again be recognised as the firm foundation of our schools and communities.
-
Pray that Christian values of truth, integrity and love would be protected and strengthened, even in times of change:
“When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
Psalm 11:3 NIV
Specific prayer points for this week
-
For Year 7 pupils starting secondary school, that they would settle quickly and find good friends.
-
For all pupils adjusting to the new term, that they would be able to cope well with pressures and challenges.
-
For school leaders, that they would be equipped to guide staff and pupils wisely through reforms and the demands of this autumn term.
