ACT Prayer Points

Week Commencing 28 June

“The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Psalm 121:5–8 (NIV)

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Matthew 5:44–45 (NIV)

Heatwave and Schools

The recent heatwave led to significant disruption in many schools, with attendance falling and some schools forced to close because of the extreme temperatures.

Please pray:

  • Thank God for His constant care and protection, and for the rain and relief He provides.
  • Ask God to protect schools, pupils and staff as they respond to increasingly unpredictable weather.
  • Pray for wisdom for national and local leaders as they plan, invest and make decisions that help schools remain safe and resilient.
  • Pray that, in times of uncertainty, people across our nation would turn to the Lord, who is full of love, mercy and compassion.

Political Leadership

With the prospect of a change in political leadership, education policy may continue to evolve in the months ahead.

Please pray:

  • For wisdom, integrity and discernment for all those entrusted with leadership and responsibility in government.
  • That decisions affecting education would promote the flourishing of children and young people.
  • For stability and continuity where it benefits schools, and wisdom where change is needed.
  • That Christian teachers and school leaders would continue to serve faithfully and be a gracious witness to Christ, whatever the political landscape.
