SEND Reform
- Deficit Resolution: Pray that the government successfully fulfils its promise to write off councils' historic SEND deficits, liberating them to meet their statutory duties.
- Student Prioritisation: Pray for SEND pupils impacted by these financial gaps; pray they are prioritised and protected within current government outsourcing and reforms.
- Effective Reform: Pray that the proposed SEND reforms deliver genuine improvements to lives and conditions, rather than creating further uncertainty or risk.
- Clarity on Funding: Pray for "fit for purpose" details regarding the "appropriate and proportionate" funding approach, ensuring no "glaring questions" remain unanswered.
- Transport Solutions: Pray about the issue of burgeoning transport costs; pray for a clear, sustainable funding strategy that addresses the £3bn projected pressure.
- Early Intervention: Pray that the DfE’s goal of meeting needs earlier and closer to home materialises quickly, reducing travel demand and student distress.
- Risk Mitigation: Pray for the mitigation of all forecast risks, asking God for wisdom and stability as the OBR and government navigate these high-stakes reforms.
Violence in Schools
- Halt the Violence: Pray for an end to the 45% surge in school violence, asking God to stop the daily average of 1,000+ assaults and restore peace to our classrooms.
- Protection for Staff & Students: Pray for the safety of teachers and pupils alike, specifically asking for a "shield" against the thousands of physical attacks reported annually.
- Early Intervention: Pray for nursery and reception children showing early signs of aggression; ask for wisdom for parents and staff to address these behaviors at the root.
- Focus on Year 8: Pray specifically for Year 8 students, who currently face the highest risk of violence, that they would be steered toward positive paths and mentors.
- Stop Digital "Wars": Pray that the "school wars" social media trend fails to take hold and that authorities successfully protect students from online incitement.
