ACT Prayer Points

Week Commencing 1st March

“A father to the fatherless… God sets the lonely in families.” (Psalm 68:4–6 NIV)

1. SEND “Experts at Hand” Service

The government is calling for experienced SEND professionals to return to classrooms under the new £1.8bn “experts at hand” initiative, with a promise to prioritise direct intervention over paperwork.

Please pray:

  • That experienced SEND staff would return — and current staff would be strengthened to remain.

  • That administrative burdens would genuinely reduce, freeing professionals to support children directly.

  • That SEND pupils would feel valued, included and deeply loved, knowing they are made in God’s image.

  • For parents of SEND children — that they would not grow weary but know God’s sustaining grace.

2. Rising Numbers of Young People Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)

Almost one million 16–24 year-olds in the UK are now classified as NEET (12.8%), with rising concerns around mental health, long-term sickness and disengagement.

Please pray:

  • For young people who feel stuck, isolated or without direction — that they would find hope, purpose and opportunity.

  • For those struggling with mental health or neurodivergence — that they would receive the right support.

  • For schools, colleges and churches — that they would help young people transition well into adulthood.

  • For wise policy decisions that genuinely open doors rather than entrench dependency.
