Christmas Prayer Points
Prayer points for schools – Advent & Christmas
As this is the last week in school for most of us before Christmas, here are some special themed prayer points
Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” – Luke 2:10–11
-
Give thanks for the opportunities to share the wonder of Jesus’ birth in nurseries, primary, and secondary schools across Scotland and the UK.
-
Pray for physical strength, good health, and energy for school staff who give extra time to run Christmas events.
-
Pray for pupils who find this season difficult—those grieving, separated from family, or vulnerable during holidays.
-
Pray for Christian teachers to have boldness to share their faith with colleagues or invite friends and family to Christmas events.
-
Pray for lunchtime and afterschool Christian groups across the UK, that they continue to be spaces of fellowship and fun for pupils.
-
Pray for teams such as Open the Book as they share the Good News of Jesus in school assemblies this month.
-
Give thanks for church volunteers supporting schools in 2025 through sports clubs, breakfast clubs, homework clubs, assemblies, and as lesson visitors.
-
Pray for churches hosting school Christmas assemblies, that they give a warm welcome and point visitors to Jesus, especially those who may be attending a church for the first time.
-
Pray that as Christmas carols are sung, the truth of Jesus’ birth and salvation reaches the hearts of those who do not yet know Him.
-
Pray for ACT’s Christmas Advent Appeal, that we may raise sufficient funds for the Living for Jesus in Educationproject and that it blesses Christian educators across the UK.
