Interim Prayer Diary

Published on January 12, 2023

The eagle eyed amongst our members will be aware that the Spring edition of the journal that usually hits doormats in January hasn’t arrived. Never fear- we are adjusting our printing schedule to try to fit into the school year a bit more effectively. The next edition will be with members by February half term, so there’ll be a bit more of an opportunity to pore over the articles and digest the content. As the current prayer diary runs out on the 14th January here are the prayer points up until you receive the Jourmal. Do remember that only members receive a copy of the Journal, so if you want this benefit, sign up today!

January 15 - January 28          Hope

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Psalm 31:24

  • Thank God for the hope we have as individuals because of His salvation.
  • Look forward in hopeful confidence that He will walk with us throughout 2023.
  • Be hopeful when trials come, that our God will teach us, uphold us and bring us through.
  • Hope and pray for good outcomes as we sow God’s Good News into young people’s hearts and minds.
  • Ask God that we can share our hope with colleagues and students, especially those who are fearful, anxious and despairing.
  • Ask God to help us live lives which let people see that we have His hope within us, whatever is going on around us.
  • Ask Him to open new doors for us as Christians in the New Year, as we hope to know Him better, share Him more, and become more like the people He wants us to be.

January 29 - February 11          Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

  • Thank God that He is One who is true to His Word, faithful in His grace, and able to bring about exactly what He has promised.
  • Thank Him for those many, many people who have been faithful in their Christian witness in schools and Universities in days gone by.
  • Thank Him for any Christian teacher or staff member who has ever made an impression for good on us, or others.
  • Ask God that those who are struggling in difficult situations might know His peace, comfort and strength.
  • Ask God to enthuse, direct and affirm those who are currently seeking to step out in faith somehow, somewhere, to advance His name in schools, Colleges and Universities.
  • Pray for young people who want to share their faith, or who are under pressure because of their faith, or who are under the spiritual attack of doubt.
  • Thank God for the simple, child-like faith of the youngest of children, that what they hear of Christ in their Primary Years might grow into salvation and a lifelong walk with Him.

February 12 - February 25         Charity/Charis

‘And the second commandment is like the first: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

Matthew 22:39

  • Thank God for the example of Christ who showed us what true sacrificial love, grace and forgiveness really are
  • Thank Him that true love never fails and that He is the epitome of that love.  Our love fails, but His does not – He keeps on loving us, even when we have let Him down
  • Love is patient – Lord, please help us when our classes test our patience
  • Love keeps no accounts of wrongs – Lord, please prevent us from holding grudges
  • Love rejoices in the truth – Lord, please enable us to speak truth with compassion and gentle honesty
  • Love bears all things – Lord, please strengthen us when we are ‘put down’ because of our witness for you
  • Love endures – Lord, please bless us with the perseverance to keep loving, keep going and keep believing

Thank you for your partnership in prayer.
